The world of Josie Lee is a kaleidoscope of vibrancy and warmth.
Her compositions are made up of acrylic, heavy paste work and mixed media. She loves to create tableaux of life in a community, where each time you look you find yet another character up to mischief, with adults, children and animals constantly upstaging each other! Street parties, parades & summer strolls evoke a cheerful nostalgia for bygone days!
Born to Italian parents, her rich Mediterranean heritage is ever-present in both her palette and her compositions. Amongst her various painting styles and techniques you will find and abundance of work influenced by today’s vogue for naïve art. Her paintings are invariably rich and vibrant with a consistent humorous trend and often an underlying script, reflected in the figurative work added. Painting mainly in acrylics, her work is deeply enhanced with layers of textures, resins and mixed media. Stamped with her colourful and witty signature tableaux, Josie’s naïve art is rapidly becoming a popular and sought-after addition to adorn the walls of all generations.
