A self taught artist, Elaine Cooper has experimented with various mediums such as acrylics, oils and textures. Elaine initially was a designer in the textile industry, which she was involved with for 25 years.
Elaine was encouraged to change direction and began to draw, and paint with watercolours, discovering a long forgotten interest.
Fine line and detailed work were her initial inspiration, but Elaine moved on to a more fluid style that have a personality of their own, quirky, narrow houses seen in France whilst on holiday, floral paintings of poppies and sunflowers with their bright and vibrant colours.
Elaine's studio is surrounded by the hills and countryside of the Rossendale Valley and together with her garden, gives her the continued inspiration to paint.
